The first PT6A-67F has come to Covington Aircraft. A power section removed from an Air Tractor 802U is being inspected after a prop strike. This is one of the first repairs world wide of a PT6A-67F.
The new PT6A-67F is type certificated for both the Air Tractor 802 and 1002. We are excited to see the new engine model visit our shop and we look forward to providing the same level of excellent service to our -67F customers that we do for our other PT6A customers.
FOR RELEASE: April 6, 2010
Okmulgee, Oklahoma - Covington Aircraft has been named as a Pratt & Whitney Canada (P&WC) Distributor and Designated Overhaul Facility (DDOF) for the PT6A Engine Series. Covington Aircraft is a subsidiary of Abbott Industries.
Pratt & Whitney Canada had many options when selecting their agricultural affiliate. To guarantee their partnership provided the highest quality customer service and satisfaction, they entered the field and talked to the Ag pilots who depend on the PT6A engine to make a living. During their research, the name “Covington Aircraft” was repeatedly given to them, namely because of our personalized customer service.
In the end, Pratt & Whitney named us their only Agricultural Service Center (through March, 2010) – and we have our customers to thank.
